Event Description

SUMMER OF ART
BEGINNING JULY 6, 2017

SPECIAL FEATURE:
SUSANA CASILLAS — DUALITY & LIBERTY

OPENING RECEPTION: THURSDAY · JULY 6 · 5–8 PM

Together with this year’s summer exhibition of showing a variety of works by ARTAMO’s gallery artists, ARTAMO GALLERY presents in a special feature the works of Susana Casillas, a young emerging artist from Mexico who also works as a photographer. In her captivating painted portraits she deals with the duality in life, the yin and yang of her soul and life experiences. Susana Casillas was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco. She is a young emerging autodidact Mexican artist and also works as a photographer. Since her childhood she has been involved with pencil, colors, watercolor, acrylic and oil paints. In her short but upward career her works have been shown in various solo and group exhibitions in Mexico and internationally.

“I live to create. I live to transmit, to connect with my spiritual self and to sprout every fiber of me. There is no yesterday, no tomorrow, it is the present, the dancing emotion and the adrenaline of capturing it. There is no time, no space — it is all a single energy, powerful without limits. It is the infinite continence guided by intuition, liberating every taboo, just listening, loving it, liberating its strength. It is something that you feel, that you just know. There are no words, only that impulse of this deep place inside of us.” — Susana Casillas
