For the artists of “Spell Check,” text is an aesthetic tool that conveys messages that are stronger than pictures or words alone. They use the lines and shapes of letters to complete their visual images in very different ways, sometimes providing information, sometimes texture, sometimes irony. Sometimes the curve of the letter is the very art in and of itself. Yet in each of their works is the visual poetry that thrives between meaning and making. And that moment is only enhanced by the text they employ.
Please join us for this one-night show. You will never “read” an art show the same way again.
